A 1915 satirical novel by H. G. Wells. The book is about Bliss making a book out the fragmentary writings of George Boon.

The book was notorious for including a literary assault on Henry James, mocking the authors writing style and characters. James and Wells were long time friends but had fallen out prior to WWI. But Wells doesn't stop there.

To even things out, Wells also mocks himself.
